Since starting a complete "do-over" on brewing I have decided to give Wifey a break and get all my brewing out into the uninsulated garage. This comes with some challenges, namely temp control.
Meet the LFC (libation fermentation creation)

The chamber will hold two Spiedel 60 litre fermenters and could easily hold another 4 car boys. It will be heat and cool controlled with an stc-1000.
With no doors on it and just a board over the hole I was able to get to 48F in about 10 minutes.
I'll get some better pics later when my mess is cleaned up.
The chamber is raised for Gravity pour to kegs. Storage above and below.
Momma gonna be happy when I get all my crap out of the laundry room

The LFC (libation fermentation creation) is complete and a great success.
I insulated with 2" styrofoam with the foil on it. Once I figured out that the thermostat of the A/C unit needs to be bypassed I could even pull off lagers in the summer.
New and better pics on the way

ok .. older post but .. I'm kind of in the same situation ( un insulated garage ) .
Are you using this also to warm up ? If so , what are you using as a heater ?
I just built 2 STC 1000 controllers , one for the fridge and one to heat with . I was thinking of using a hair dryer if I can find a lower wattage travel size dryer .

Definitely interested in what the heating source is.

I built a chamber last year to use in my garage and just have a light bulb for heating. It is simply a clamp on desk lamp hanging in there. Now my chamber is much smaller, it barely fits 2 - 7gal stainless brewbuckets and has 2 layers of R10 insulation.
