Escarpment Yeast

I am starting to use these guys from Guelph, Ontario. I am brewing a bitter tomorrow with English Ale II. After that I will give their lager yeast a try. Anyone here using their yeast strains? How do they perform? I do like the 180 billion cell count.

Their yeasts are great. Many of them are the same strains you'd get from whitelabs or wyeast, plus they have a great collection of unique kveik and other harder-to-find strains

Grapes to Glass in Calgary sells them. And they do mail order. Should be able to get them to you pretty quickly from Calgary.

Fermenting a batch now, using their Vermont Ale strain... Brew day was Sunday, so we're less than 48 hours from pitching and the krausen has already fallen. Bubbling in my blow-off jug seems to have slowed significantly. I don't think I've ever had a beer ferment this quickly before.

Their Kolsch yeast is very clean. I fermented it at 62 F.

I'm sure the higher cell count compared with other liquid yeasts helped speed things along, since I don't often use a starter. I haven't got a cold space anymore, so I'm looking at strains that perform well at temperatures above 22 C. Hard to find clean in that range, but there are some interesting options.

Years ago I won a medal in, I think, the IPA category in a homebrew comp. Escarpment was one of the sponsors but I think I received only a sticker. It's on my beer fridge still and I've never seen any of their products aside from that sticker. I'm in Quebec, though, so that may be it?
