I kegged my Kolsch and got all of my yeast slurry in a mason jar. Once it has settled for a day or so I am left with 500 ml. I didn't wash it, but there is some beer on top. Brewers Friend says I need to make a starter. I brew 13 gallons at a time. But when I keg other beers and add new wort on top, I don't make a starter, just aerate and let her go. What's up?
