Chardonnay Slow Fermentation

Post by Reignman » 2 weeks ago

This is a Costco wine kit. I checked the gravity on day 10 and it was only 1.020. Kit says to rack to secondary at 1.010. It is still active though. Should I wait until it gets to 1.010, or rack now?

I'd probably let it keep going before racking to secondary...

But that'd depend on how thirsty I'm feeling.

I might go pick up a wine kit today. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

I racked it and put it in a warmer room. Seems to be quite active. Has a long way to go yet, hope it gets there. I hate sweet wine.

After 2 weeks the gravity is .996. Racked and added the packets and is now clearing. Next time ferment in summer, or find a warmer room in the winter.

Beautiful! How long do they say to keep it on secondary?
