Did you do the origional recipe that you posted? Did you top the water off to 5 gallons? What was the starting gravity?

3.5gallon boil.
topped up to 5.5gallons
2lb honey 60min
1lb molasses 60min
2lb dextrose 15min
2lb raisins 10min

3 lemon sliced flame out
2 orange sliced flame out
2 blood orange sliced flame out
4 lime sliced flame out
raisin and fruit left in fermenter
aftert week removed fruit and raisins and transfered to secondary
yeast a coopers yeast i had in fridge.

OG: 1.08386270136
fg: 0.98163827 (at end of primary)
abv%13.03

also just put carboy in fridge to cold crash before kegging.

Why the 60 minute boil? There's no hops in the recipe. Also, that's an awful lot of decimal places for your s.g. readings. What sort of device are you using to get that kind of accuracy?

refractormeter and running algorythim to convert brix to gravity

aint carbed yet, but drinking it, strong and sweet like remember, my mother use to just boil the sugar and water.

looks good bro.

the one I remember from being a kid seemed lighter then that though. I wonder if out around home they just used sugar? or maybe a much smaller amount of molasses. I think I may eventually give this a go by your recipe. Thanks for sharing it up bro...

i remember it l;ighter too, but i did use some mollassas next time i'll use cane or table sugar.
