Looking for a good recipe

Post by brhenrio »

Next brew I'm not sure what to do. Have some wlp 530 (abbey ale)and some wlp 080(cream ale). Suggestions? Got lots of plain 2 row, not much of anything else.

I like the wlp080 yeast. Sounds you don't want to buy any adjuncts, so a smash with the 080, with noble hops if you have them. The 530 Abbey Ale will make a good dubel or tripel, but I have always used other malts along with it. Aromatic malt will compliment your tripel. Of course, a big starter is a must. What hops do you have on hand?

Cream of 3 crops. Great easy drinkin light coloured brew. Other ingredients than your 2 row can be had at the grocery store or bulk barn. Use the wlp080.

I have made a 2-row cascade SMaSH and it was awesome.
The hops were added at 60, 30, 15, and 5 minutes. It was a great session beer and didn't last long.
