Leaf Hops
Where are people getting their leaf hops?
By god, I love the smell and ease of use of leaf hops.
There's a place in Collingwood that while they only ship dry, you can go in and pick up fresh. But of course that only works certain times of the year I guess.
I just really want leaf hops, but don't want to go broke buying them. That's what I guess I'm really saying.

Re: Leaf Hops
Seems to me that Cascade is the only leaf hop available.

I'm going to give https://www.clearvalleyhops.com/ a try... They're only 45 minutes from me anyway.
Has anyone here ordered from them?

Re: Leaf Hops
I find leaf hops leave a weird greasy slick on everything after using them. I'm not entirely sold on them. But hey if you can find them good luck.
Re: Leaf Hops
I found that also. I did a late hop addition of Hallertauer leaf hops a few years ago and it did have a greasy slick taste.

Re: Leaf Hops
Wouldn't that just be the hop oils from the cone? You don't get that in the pellets or lupulin as it has been processed, bare cone hasn't had any processing other than put into a bags and sealed.

Re: Leaf Hops
For those of you around Montreal, I remember getting some specialty leaf hops at la Choppe a Barock. The owner would sometimes order harder to find bulk leafs and sell them by the ounce. I've gotten Citra and the harder to find Hallertau Blanc both in leaf form. I'd give him a call if you're around that area!
